For the 23rd Consecutive Year, City of Dublin Earns National Budget Award

The City of Dublin has received the Government Finance Officers Association’s (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its 2026 budget. The award reflects the City’s and its staff’s commitment to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. This is the 23rd time the City has received this honor.

One of nearly 2,000 participants in the Budget Awards Program, Dublin earned the distinction by demonstrating excellence in four nationally recognized areas: serving as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide and communications tool.

This award signifies that the City of Dublin has “pioneered efforts to improve the quality of budgeting” and provides “an excellent example for other governments throughout North America,” according to GFOA.

“This recognition reflects our commitment to being responsible stewards of the public’s investment,” said City of Dublin Chief Financial Officer/Director of Finance Matt Rubino. “Our residents expect us to manage every tax dollar wisely, plan for the future and be transparent about how resources are used. This award demonstrates that our budget meets the highest national standards while supporting the exceptional services, infrastructure and quality of life our community relies on.”

The Distinguished Budget Presentation Award adds to Dublin’s longstanding record of fiscal excellence and transparency. The City is one of only a select group of governments to earn the GFOA’s “Triple Crown” for four consecutive years. Dublin is also the first and only city in the United States to receive four AAA ratings from S&P, Moody’s, KBRA and Fitch — a distinction that helps position Dublin to invest wisely while protecting taxpayer dollars.
